He attended Deshbandhu Vidyalaya Boys School in Chittaranjan. Thereafter, he attended Kuvempu University, Shimoga, Karnataka, where he pursued a bachelor’s degree in IT (2008-2011). He then pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Television Journalism from Jamia Millia Islamia, Central University, New Delhi (2012-2013). He received his Masters in Mass Communication from Guru Jambheshwar Technological University, Hisar, Haryana (2013-2014). Thereafter, he studied acting courses at Madhya Pradesh School of Drama, Bhopal (2014-2016).

In 2011, he started working with an amateur theater troupe called Bahroop Arts Group, which was mainly composed of students from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi. He has worked with many famous theater directors such as Devendra Raj Ankur, Rita Ganguly Raghuveer Yadav, Go Govind Namdeo, Shahid Anwar, Sanjay Upadhyaya and KS Rajendran. In 2015, she was associated with Kala Mandali Theater Company in New Delhi. In 2017, he starred in the Madhya Pradesh Drama School’s production of Sanjay Upadhyay’s Neelkanth Nirala.

His work won him the Shrilal Shukla Smriti IFFCO Sahitya Samman Award 2017. His other theater credits include Bahroop Arts Group’s Pagal Tantra (2018). He also worked as a theater director. In 2019, he designed and directed the play “In Dino Har Roz”.

In 2021, he starred in the movies “Jamun” as Amit, “200: Halla Ho” as Santosh and “I Am Draupadi”. In 2023, he played Veer Singh’s son-in-law in the Netflix web series “Trial by Fire”. In the same year, he played the role of Monu – CanDo Employee in the film Chhatriwali. Puneet came to limelight with the TVF web series Sandeep Bhaiya (2023), in which he played the role of Prince Mishra.
