Kamal Mohsin Sheikh believes in Islam. In an interview, she revealed that Narendra Modi was an RSS worker when she first tied Rakhi to Narendra Modi. She said she would pray to God that Modi become the chief minister of Gujarat. Her prayers were answered when Modi became Prime Minister of India in 2001. Thereafter, she will pray that Modi will be promoted to the Prime Minister of India. Her prayers were answered again when Modi became the 14th Prime Minister of India.

However, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country in 2020, she was unable to meet Modi in person for the next 2-3 years. During those years, she sent him rakhi. In 2023, Sheikh announced that she would visit New Delhi and present a handmade raki to the Prime Minister. In an interview, while describing the handmade rakhi, she said that she specially made a red rakhi for him as the color is considered a symbol of strength. She also said that she would give Modi an agricultural book that he would like to read. She has tied a raki to Modi every year for the past 30 years.
