Quinta Brunson Loses Her Earrings at the NAACP Awards — and Asks Star-Studded Audience for Help!

Quinta Brunson won big at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards over the weekend. But it was something she lost, something that was on her mind when she went to collect her trophy.

“Thank you guys, I lost both my earrings,” she said Abbott Elementary School the creator and star said Saturday, March 16, while accepting her award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series onstage at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

She continued to seek help from the star-studded crowd. “If anyone sees my earrings,” she said, describing the jewelry. “Just little hanging things, they cost a lot — so if someone sees them…”

Brunson, 34, drew laughter with a remark from the audience.

The crowd included famous faces such as Idris Elba, Usher, Keke Palmer, Kerry Washington, Sterling K. Brown, Leslie Jones, Octavia Spencer, Jeffrey Wright, Halle Bailey, Misty Copeland and Vivica A. Fox, as well as Color Purple star Danielle Brooks, Taraji P. Henson, Fantasia Barrino and Colman Domingo.

Queen Latifah hosted the show, and Andra Day performed.

But Brunson’s earrings may have disappeared before she hit the red carpet.

The Philadelphia native didn’t wear them as she posed for photographers in an architectural white Naeem Khan dress with a plunging V-neckline, fitted bodice and floor-length train.

But on her fingers she wore jewelry in the form of a series of diamond and silver rings. Her make-up moment was also a standout, with high-gloss lips and glittery shadow. As for her hair, she wore it in a beautiful, messy style.

In her acceptance speech, Brunson expressed her gratitude to her community of supporters and friends.

“Let me just say thank you very much, it’s a great honor,” Brunson said in her speech. “I love coming to this ceremony and seeing all my friends and all the people I don’t see everyday while we’re working. I am extremely honored, once again.”

“I am very proud of the work I do Abbott. I’m very proud of my cast,” she added. “Thanks to my family. I hope my mom and dad are watching and all the black people in my life.”

In addition to his acting victory, Abbott Elementary School it was also named best comedy at the NAACP Image Awards on Saturday.
