Legal dispute with Tamil Weekly over a defamatory article
Raai Laxmi filed a lawsuit against the Tamil weekly Kumudam for publishing an article titled “Ore Arayil Herovudan Thanginal Thappa?” (Is it wrong to be in the same room with the hero?), damaging her image. She filed a defamation suit in court, seeking compensation of Rs 30 lakh, and the Madras High Court further issued a restraining order prohibiting the publication of any article about her.
