Rachel Brosnahan is an American actress and producer best known for her role as aspiring stand-up comedian Miriam “Midge” Maisel in the critically acclaimed Prime Video comedy series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017).

At the age of four, her family moved to Highland Park, Illinois, where she grew up. She attended Wayne Thomas Elementary School, Northwood Junior High School, and Highland Park High School. During her junior and senior high school years, she performed in musicals. At Highland Park High School, she was on the wrestling team for two years and served as a ski coach at the school. At the age of sixteen, she trained under Carol Dibaugh, director of the Wilmette Actor Training Center; Dibaugh is now her agent. In 2012, Brosnahan graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a major in theater and a minor in psychology.
