Rachel Leviss Reveals the Exact Pasta Dish That Caused Years of Drug Rumors to Boil Over

Rachel “Raquel” Leviss sets the record straight in pastagate.

In the 2018 episode Vanderpump RulesLeviss’ ex James Kennedy got into a heated argument with Lala Kent regarding Kent and Kennedy’s friend Logan Noh while eating pasta Leviss ordered during Kennedy’s DJ set in Sur.

“It’s not about pasta!” Kennedy memorably yelled, and his passion fueled an Internet rumor that “pasta” was code for drugs.

In the latest episode of her podcast Rachel goes rogue, the reality star says they were actually just fighting over penne — and reveals the specific dish.

“Pasta is not code for any substance,” she says. “It was really about the pasta, folks.”

“So, I was working one night in Sur, and Lala was there with Logan and some friends. And I had my employee meal, which was Penne Siciliane, with capers, pine nuts and olives,” continues Leviss. “Delicious. If you want to add protein, I highly recommend the shrimp. Chef’s kiss. They don’t have it on the menu anymore, unfortunately. But at the time, it was the pasta I ordered.”

As Leviss remembers, she took a few bites of food and then had to run to one of her tables.

“Lala ate the rest of my pasta,” he explains. “So it became, like, a bigger thing in Season 6 Vanderpump Rules because James was trying to point out that ‘it’s not about the pasta, it’s about you disrespecting my girlfriend and laughing at it’, because she’s been disrespecting me for years.”

“But people thought there was no way this was actually pasta,” she adds. “I can’t be that passionate about someone eating someone else’s pasta. So that’s not a code for anything, folks. Now we can put that rumor to bed.”

“I think when people use the word ‘best friend’ to define Ariana and my friendship, I automatically get defensive with that,” Leviss said. “Because I didn’t consider her my best friend, nor did I think she was my best friend.”
