Radhika was born on September 7, 1985, in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India (38 years old; as of 2023). She attended Tilak Nagar High School in Dombivli, Maharashtra and was later home-schooled along with her four friends. During her school days, mathematics used to be her favorite subject, taught to her by her grandmother Madhumalati Apte, a mathematician from France and a Ph.D. In addition to schooling, Apte also trained in Kathak for eight years. She received her BA in Economics and Mathematics from Ferguson College, Pune.
At the age of 18, she started taking part in Marathi theater performances. In 2003, she starred in her first drama “Nako Re Baba”. She has since written many plays in Hindi and English such as “Purnaviram”, “Tu”, “Kanyadaan”, “Matra Ratra”, “Brain Surgeon”, “That Time” and “Bombay Black”. In Pune, she was associated with Mohit Takalkar’s theater group ‘Aasakta Kalamanch’. She also went to London’s Trinity Laban School of Music and Dance to obtain a Diploma in Dance Studies.
