Facts/Trivia
- Ragala’s father was an athlete himself and wanted his children to have careers in sports. In the 1990s, his father sent Ragala and Kunal (Ragala’s brother) to a sports school in Harjinpet, Telangana. They studied there until the third grade. Ragala’s father then decided to move to a city with his family, he raised Rs 25 lakh and moved to Hyderabad. In an interview, Ragala’s father said he always believed in his sons’ potential. He said,
I always believed in my sons’ potential and knew they would win medals at the Commonwealth Games. Although I was an athlete myself, I never received any encouragement that made me determined to train my sons. “
- In 2018, Lagara suffered a minor knee injury after the 2018 Commonwealth Games and was out for seven months. According to some sources, he paid a medical bill of Rs. The same Rs 5 lakh. After recovering, he won a medal at the Inter-Railway Championships.
- He has a tattoo of his parents on his chest. In an interview, talking about tattoos, he said:
My mother passed away two years ago and I got this tattoo two months after she passed away. This is my way of showing my love for them. “
