She wanted to become an IAS or IPS office clerk, but in 2008, she was discovered by Indian fashion designer Prasad Bidapa, who introduced Rajini to modeling. Rajini has modeled at various popular fashion shows like Lakme Fashion Week and Sri Lanka Fashion Week. On September 4, 2020, the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCB) in Bengaluru, which was investigating drug trafficking in the Kannada film industry, arrested Rajini for her involvement in the drug deal. The CCB issued a notice to her on September 2, 2020, asking her to appear before it on Thursday. She sent a team of lawyers to the CCB and sought extension of the interrogation till Monday. The CCB raided her residence on September 4, 2020, following a search warrant issued by the court. On September 11, 2020, the police extended the custody of Rajini, Sanjana Galani and four others for three days.
