A dialogue from his film “Heiti Anani Jyoti Mashtrani” became a popular meme. In 1991, he made his debut as a theater (jatra) director with the play “Bhanga Aaina”. He has directed and acted in many theater productions. He mainly plays a negative role in Jatra.

According to reports, he committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Prachi Vihar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on June 24, 2022. His body was sent to Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar for post-mortem examination. According to media sources, he sent a “goodbye” text message to his wife and daughters before committing suicide. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled his death on Twitter, where he wrote:
I am deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Raimohan Parida. His absence will be felt in every field of art, from theater to Jatra and films. He will be remembered for his impeccable performances. I express my sincere condolences to the family of the deceased. “
