Indian Home Minister Amit Shah’s elder sister, Rajeshwariben Shah, passed away in a hospital in Mumbai on January 15, 2024. She had been unwell for some time and was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Mumbai.

Amit Shah canceled all his programs for the day. Her funeral service was held at her residence in Ahmedabad in the morning. Her last rites will be held at Thaltej Crematorium, located in Jade Hall next to Rajpath Club.

As of Sunday, Amit Shah was already in Ahmedabad to celebrate the kite festival with BJP supporters.

Amit Shah was scheduled to attend two events including Banaskantha to inaugurate Banas Dairy projects in Deodar village and Gandhinagar district to present projects at Rashtriya Raksha University.

A BJP official said,

“After the death of his sick sister, Shah canceled all his programs for the day. Rajeshwaribena’s mortal remains were brought to her residence today morning and her last rites will be performed at the Thaltej crematorium in the afternoon.”
