Ralph Fiennes brings “demure” to 2025!
The actor, 62, recreated Jools LeBron’s viral TikTok in a segment called “Recitations by Ralph” on New Year’s Eve live with Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper on Tuesday, December 31.
A video posted on X (formerly Twitter) shows Fiennes quoting the TikToker, whose video shows her professional make-up and outfit, saying: “Look at my shirt, just a little chichi out. Not my chocho.”
The Golden Globe nominee playfully pushed his jacket back a bit, showing off his bare skin beneath an unbuttoned shirt.

“Mind why they hired you. Here’s a reality check, diva. What’s the name you want me to name him?” He continued to quote Lebron, leaning closer to Cohen and looking him in the eye as he delivered the last sentence with a cheeky shake of his head.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Ray Fiennes,” Cohen said to end the segment. “More nominees for the Oscar, for the Golden Globe Conclave.”

The TikTok video has since been lit up with mentions of the reenactment in the comments section. “Watching this again after Andy and Anderson’s NYE show,” one person wrote.

“I literally just watched Ralph Fiennes reenact this at the reception,” wrote another. “Crazy.”

Lebron shared a video of her festive New Year’s outfit, which was also flooded with comments about the reference on the popular show.

“Ralph Fiennes’ ‘very modest’ monologue with Andy and Anderson was iconic,” wrote one supportive follower. “We’re here for the duo, but Anderson stole the show.”
“Please tell me you saw your monologue by one of the greatest actors of our time on national television,” another person wrote.
“I think Voldemort reciting your lines is better than receiving a letter from Hogwarts,” wrote another, referring to Fiennes’ iconic role.

Lebo’s TikTok video, in which she utters the catchphrase “very demure, very mindful,” led Dictionary.com to name “demure” its word of the year for 2024 in November.
“The word ‘demure’ saw a meteoric rise in usage in 2024. Between January and the end of August, the term saw a nearly 1,200% increase in usage in digital web media alone,” the post said. “This spike is largely attributed to TikToker Jools Lebron’s popularization of the phrase.”

Dictionary.com states that the term ‘modest’ means to be “characterized by shyness and modesty” and to be reserved.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in August, Lebron said she was inspired to do the TikTok shoot because she liked how her makeup looked that day.
“I thought I looked like a Bratz doll,” she said. “I saw a video saying how Barbie started out very humble and humble and how her biggest competition Bratz was far from that. So I thought it was funny to say I was humble with my winged black eyeliner, huge eyelashes, blonde hair thigh highs and acrylic nails.”

Meanwhile, Fiennes has had a busy 2024 with his recent film releases Conclave and Return. He has several projects planned, including a third film in the 28 days later series, 28 years laterand British comedies Assembly.
Menu actor told PEOPLE in December that he would love to star in a movie with his famous brother Joseph Fiennes.
“I have no idea what kind of movie it would be. It would be nice if it wasn’t serious,” he said.
