Ramón Ayala spent his entire life creating Norteno music. As a gift, his father gave him his first harmonica. Furthermore, his first band experience was with Los Jilgueros de Marin. Then he joined Los Pavoreales. In 1959, Ramon and his family moved to Tamaulipas. Ramon worked here in the cotton fields.
Ramon met Cornelia Reyne in 1963 in a cantina called ‘El Cadillac’. Los Relampagos del Norte was founded by the two and released their self-titled debut album. Los Relampagos Del Norte conquered the music charts for the next eight years by innovating and reinventing Norte music, which was previously thought to be exclusively canteen music. Ramon and Cornelio brought the music and lyrics to life to reach and appeal to a wider audience. The duo released a total of 20 albums, including several hits such as “El Disgusto”, “Devoucion”, “Mi Tesoro”, “Tengo Miedo” and others.
