Randy Moss remains positive.
The NFL Hall of Famer’s business partner, chef Brittany Tolliferreo — who recently opened a fried chicken restaurant in Miami with the former Minnesota Vikings player — told TMZ Sports that Moss is in “great spirits” following his cancer diagnosis.
“He will not stop and wants everything to be successful and continue to grow,” she added.
Moss (47) and Toliferro began working together in 2023. when the athlete invested in her Chick-a-Boom restaurant in Philadelphia, po Forbes. Their latest venture, Crisppi’s Chicken, opened earlier this month.
The football player-turned-ESPN analyst first revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer on Instagram Live in December 2024. In the video, Moss said he first suspected something was wrong when he noticed his urine had changed color, which made him see his doctor.
“So I had cancer,” he said. “They found it in the bile duct right between the pancreas and the liver and that the cancer was right outside the bile duct.”
Moss then explained that he underwent the first of several surgeries over Thanksgiving, adding that he had a stent placed in his liver.

Moss later said he underwent another operation the following month. Whipple procedure — surgery that treats tumors and other conditions in the pancreas, small intestine and bile ducts, according to the Mayo Clinic.
“It’s been a tough week, tough time. Thank you all again,” Moss continued in the video, before thanking his medical team in Charlotte, NC

While explaining at the time that he would also undergo radiation and chemotherapy, Moss encouraged his followers — especially his fellow blacks — to get regular cancer screenings.
“By the grace of God, my liver started working worse,” he said at another point in the livestream, adding: “I didn’t think I’d ever be in this position, as healthy as I thought I was.”

Fans first learned that Moss was “struggling with something internally” when he shared a video on Instagram in December, though he didn’t reveal the nature of the challenge at the time.
“Throughout the holiday week, your boy has been struggling with something inside,” Moss said in a video at the time. “I’m just asking all the prayer warriors to lay hands of blessing on me and my family through these difficult times.”
A few days later, ESPN announced that Moss would step down from his role as co-host Sunday’s NFL Countdown to focus on his health in the X statement.
“For almost a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, constantly raising the bar Countdown with his insight and passion. He has the full support of ESPN and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready,” the statement read.
