Raven-Symoné has a good sense of humor about her time View.
The actress and television personality appeared on the Thursday, October 3 episode Sherri to promote Scrabblegame show he hosts on the CW. And while talking with host Sherri Shepherd, the two reminisced about their previous stints on ABC’s long-running daytime series.
View viewers will recall that Raven-Symoné co-hosted the show from 2015 to 2016, while Shepherd was on the show from 2007 to 2014.
Asked what View she was taught by Raven-Symoné — who is the co-host Best podcast ever with Raven and Miranda podcast — he quickly joked, “to shut the hell up.”
“Like, don’t talk. If you have an opinion, keep it to yourself,” he said That’s so Raven the star said before adding: “No, I’m just playing.”
But there was some truth to the Disney Channel student’s statement.
Over her three seasons on Viewshe’s found herself in the hot seat more than once for things she’s said, including a headline-grabbing remark that she wouldn’t hire someone with a “ghetto name.” She also once opposed the idea of putting Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill, noting that she would have chosen Rosa Parks instead, who was “closer to the progression we’re doing now.”

Reflecting on her gaffes, Raven-Symoné admitted that her approach to the show was completely wrong. “When I started the show, I said, ‘I’m going to make this like I’m talking to my best friends in my house.’ When I came off the show, I said, ‘It’s a television show, live, watched by millions of people, it wasn’t neighborhood talk,'” she recalled.
“You really have to shape the way you say things,” she added. “It’s live! It’s really hard. And it’s really hard to say anything on television, live or not, because people really get snippets and then choose what it means to them later,”

At the beginning of the week, Raven-Symoné returned to View where she told Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin that she still gets nervous being at the table.
“As you know, every time I come here, I have to come to work maybe 45 minutes early to greet everybody. And then when I get this, I have PTSD — please don’t ask me anything,” she said.
“But I love these mugs!” she laughed, taking a sip of water. “Good cups this season!”
The remark prompted Behar to point out how the show has changed since then, shifting to a more centralized focus on politics. But her former co-host disagreed.
“I got a lot of scolding back, that [I wasn’t] paying attention to [politics] so much,” answered Raven-Symoné.
He’s paying attention now though. “Now I watch it for real fun,” said Raven-Symoné. “It’s absolutely amazing and there’s so many different ways you can do it, but what I wanted to say about that is if you’re confused about who to vote for because certain policies apply in certain ways, because like, yeah, there are some things that I like on the Republican side and there are some things that I like on the Democratic side, but ultimately I choose the person who best represents me as a person to the rest of the world and what that looks like.”
