Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8 Trailer Teases Demons, Divorces and a ‘New Grand Dame’ (Exclusive)

The Real Housewives of Potomac returns to Bravo on Nov. 5 for its eighth season, and PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at a trailer that teases what’s to come.

It’s a creative clip featuring the hit reality show that was called a 90’s sitcom The real Potomac.

“We’re all black women and we’re all going through our different things in life and we’re going to embrace it,” Ashley Darby says in a toast with her co-stars. “We’ll keep Potomac weird, OK?”

Darby, Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Robyn Dixon, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Wendy Osefo and Mia Thornton return for season eight.

They will be joined by new housewife Nneka Ihim, a successful lawyer and first-generation Nigerian-American from a well-to-do family who recently married a surgeon and recently moved into a large new house in the heart of the Potomac.

“Thanks for buying me a $2 million house,” she tells his husband in the trailer, boasting, “My daddy’s a rich bitch, and he made sure his daughter was a rich bitch!”

Because of her presence in the cast, Gizelle has crowned her the “new grande dame” — something long-reigning “grande dame” Karen doesn’t accept. “If only it were that simple,” he says with a laugh.

RHOP OG Charrisse Jackson Jordan — who was a housewife for the show’s first two seasons — is also back in the mix, once again as the show’s friend. There is also a new friend Keiarna Stewart.

All have their share of playful fun and, of course, dramatic moments in the trailer.

Karen and Mia don’t joke around, with Mia calling Karen “an old dog who needs to find new tricks” — to which Karen retorts, “You are trick.”

Wendy and Nneka also clash after Nneka claims Wendy’s mom did “voodoo” on her. “My mom worships our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” says Wendy, and Nneka replies, “During the day. At night, she sends names to shrines.”

When a fire breaks out moments later, Candiace doesn’t miss a beat, joking, “These are demons coming for us.”

If that’s not enough, Candiace’s ongoing litigation with Ashley’s estranged husband Michael Darby puts the two women at odds.

“Kiss my fucking ass,” Candiace shouts at Ashley. “Let me go and see,” retorts the mother of two children.

“You’re not going to fucking own me to kick me out of this group!” Candiace says, to which Ashley replies, “That’s so immature.”

Why Gizelle Bryant Didn’t Bring Up Those Juan Dixon Cheating Rumors On ‘RHOP’: ‘I Forgot About It’

Meanwhile, Robyn is also feeling the fallout from her discovery that husband Juan Dixon had been communicating directly with another woman before their wedding – a story she only discovered after the cameras closed last season. Even her closest friend Gizelle seems to call her names.

“I’m turning into a fucking villain,” said a tearful Robyn, after seemingly being confronted by the other women. “I didn’t do anything to you!”

“People always have something to say,” Juan Robyn says at another point, slamming his hand on the table as he declares, “I don’t care!”

There are also plenty of personal revelations, such as Mia’s admission that she “maybe” married husband Gordon for his money, and that she “hired a divorce lawyer” in the past during a difficult time in their marriage.

Gizelle Bryant is dating Bravo’s Jason Cameron Winter house, who is 16 years younger than her, and the west wing has never been more lively. He is an amusing distraction to her as she prepares for her firstborn Grace to go to college. Although Gizelle is on good terms with Karen, she and Robyn experience a different aspect of their friendship as Gizelle has no boundaries in expressing her feelings towards Juan’s actions.

Amidst rumors that Juan is cheating, Robyn Dixon has decided to stick by his side… and everyone has something to say about it. While her group of friends support her, they wonder if she is truly happy or if she is just making excuses for her partner.

Karen Huger celebrates 27th wedding anniversary with husband Ray Huger: ‘I love you baby’

It’s the “triple twenty” milestone, also known as turning 60, for Karen Huger, who is entering this era with great strides, but a health scare is forcing her to make lifestyle changes. As she continues to build on her family’s legacy in Surry County, she decided to renovate the home that once belonged to her grandmother into a guesthouse/bed and breakfast. Karen and Gizelle have made a truce and are now closer than ever, but Karen resents Mia for spreading rumors and Robyn for not being honest with the group.

Candiace Dillard-Bassett is extremely busy touring Deep Space Deluxe album in multiple cities, but financing costs is taking a toll on her and Chris, so she must figure out her next move. Already stressed, she becomes even more anxious about a recent health discovery. Within the group, relations are strained as Candiace goes through her usual rekindling with Ashley, doesn’t talk to Gizelle, and goes through a rough patch with Robyn.

Ashley Darby has settled into her new home with her sons Dean and Dylan, but whether she will get a divorce is still a hot topic among women. As she reflects on life as a single mother and the financial challenges she faces, she wonders how she will support her family.

Wendy Osefo is embarking on another venture, this time combining her interests in politics, mental health and good gossip. The group dynamic is a challenge because she is not in a good place with Gizelle and Robyn, and the arrival of the new housekeeper Nneka has rubbed her the wrong way.

Mia Thornton and her husband, Gordon, went through that last year with the loss of their CEO title at The Joint chiropractor. The growing tension made her seek a divorce lawyer, but not ready to give up, she tries couples therapy. Mia takes steps to reconcile with Karen, but persistent rumors make it difficult for them to move on.

Attorney and entrepreneur Nneka Ihim is a first-generation Nigerian-American who enjoys the finer things in life. She and her husband, Dr. Ikenna Ihim, recently purchased a beautiful home in Potomac that is being renovated. She looks forward to building new friendships with the women, but surprisingly tensions rise between her and Wendy as family secrets are revealed.
