After working there for a year, she joined Fremont Medical Hospital in Yuba City, California as a volunteer. In 2014, she participated in the Miss South Asia beauty pageant and won the title.

In 2015, she joined Diana Nursing Home in Hayward, California as a pharmacy administrator and nursing staff. After working there for several years, she started working as a Customer Support Manager at Captiv8 in Palo Alto, California in May 2019. She subsequently modeled in various Punjabi music videos such as Dr. Zeus’s “Dangey” (2017) with Zora Randhawa.

- In an interview, she talked about her acting career. She said,
I was studying for a degree as a Physician Assistant but continued to pursue my dream of becoming an actor. I quickly realized that the best things in life are often waiting for you at the exit of your comfort zone, and I started doing things to push me out of this zone and become a better person. I was honored to be selected as Miss South Asia USA in 2014. The confidence this title instilled in me has really helped drive further opportunities. I’ve never been a fan of regular modeling or the cameo opportunities that come with my nominal victory. All I can say is that life is about waiting for the right moment to take action, and I quickly found my moment. “

- On February 16, 2022, she was traveling (by car) from Delhi to Punjab along with Deep Sidhu, who met with a major accident on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) highway, which bypasses Delhi. In the accident, Dipper was killed and Rena was slightly injured. Later, Reena shared a heartfelt post for Deep Sidhu on Instagram.
