Rema won Digital Artiste of the Year at the Soundcity MVP Awards held at the Eko Convention Center in Lagos in February 2023.

Rema was born on May 1, 2000 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. His real name is Divine Ikubor. Divine is the eldest son of his parents. His father and younger brother died, but he still takes care of his mother.
Divine made the allegations against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on September 28, 2020, following the death of his father, Justice Ikubor, a former boss of the party. He is of Nigerian descent and belongs to a multiracial ethnic group. He will be 22 years old in 2022.
