At the beginning of her acting career, Resham played supporting roles in several Pakistani TV series. In 1993, she served as the heroine in the TV series “Ding” broadcast by Public Television. She has acted in more than 15 Pakistani dramas. Her roles as Zainab in the TV series Man-O-Salwa (2007) and Ashti in Aashti (2009) are considered to be among her best roles. Resham has played two unique roles, namely as the snake Sajna in the TV series “Naagin” and as the religious woman Noor Bibi in “Noor Bibi”. Both the characters were highly appreciated by the audience. In 2021, she played the role of Rakhsekamar in Express Entertainment’s TV series “Tehra Aangan”.

Donate to people affected by floods
Resham often makes headlines for her charity work, having made significant donations to various causes. In 2010, she helped flood victims in Pakistan. She dispatched three trucks through the Rapid Helpline Trust to affected areas to deliver essential food items. In an interview, she spoke about this and said:
The first truck was sent to Rahim Yar Khan. The second one was sent to Cote Adu. A third truck will be dispatched during Eid, to which other actors have also donated. Ahsan Khan donated Rs 100,000 and Deedar Rs 60,000. ”
In 2022, she came to the flood-affected areas of Charsada and distributed mineral water, bagged milk, dried fruits and other food to the affected people. She also distributed cooked rice to more than 2,000 people.
Additionally, she is often seen preparing langur in her garden for those in need. In an interview with Dawn’s Icon, she shared:
It gives me great satisfaction to cook for people I know who don’t have much to eat. ” She added: “I want to go to the Holy Land and cook and give to the poor there. It’s my dream to do this. ”

Help unemployed Lollywood artists
In 2011, she distributed small amounts of Rs 2,000-5,000 to unemployed Lollywood artists and poor actor widows in Ramzan. In an interview, she spoke about this and said:
Rs 5,000 is not a big amount, but it will at least help these artists survive a few days of Ramadan without any source of income,”
Help an abandoned girl
In 2010, a girl of about 8 years old was found in front of the hotel where Resham’s sister lived. The actress bears the children’s education and living expenses. Resham said in an interview that she experienced financial hardship as a result of losing her parents as a child. she says,
I would hand her over to Child Protective Services, but I would pay all the costs. But if her parents can hear me, my appeal is to take her back because the child is very sad and scared. She misses her family. If finances were the only issue, which is why they kept her in the hotel, I would promise to cover all of her expenses until she gets married. I hope she can be with her family. I can understand how she feels because my parents died when I was very young. My sister raised me. ”

Got teased for throwing plastic bags into the river
In a video clip, Resham can be seen feeding meat and bread to fish while on his way to Charasada to help people affected by floods. The video also showed her throwing plastic bags and cutlery into the river, which was criticized by the public. Resham was heavily criticized on social media for this behaviour. Although she later apologized for her actions, she said people should highlight many other serious issues, including rape. she says,
I agree that throwing plastic into floodwaters was a mistake, but women are gang-raped every day. “Violence against women is common, but everyone is blinded by a piece of plastic. They live in a fool’s paradise. I only offer Sadqah (charity),”
criticized for winning acting pride award
After winning the Pride of Actors Award 2021, Resham was criticized by Pakistani actress, producer and director Sakina Samo. Satsuma said,
I personally believe that the choice to be proud of performance is becoming simpler and easier, so many figures who have dedicated their entire careers are often overlooked. It is a shame that the government gives such huge awards to people like Resham and Ali Zafar who, in my opinion, do not really deserve it. “
After being criticized by Sakina Samo, Resham responded to her comments and said:
Maybe I don’t deserve any awards or honors. However, the point worth thinking about here is, would the world’s great senior actors make such disparaging remarks about their juniors? Is there anything to say that belittles and undermines the years of struggle and hard work of another actor (especially their junior)? A truly great actor with a big heart. She added: “May God bless her with more awards, but she should reflect on the fact that when someone tries to put someone else down, it says something about their own talents and character, not the other person’s.” ”
Reham Khan allegedly used her name in her book
In the second season of One Take, Momin Ali Munshi gave an interview to Resham, in which Resham said that Reham Khan used her name to promote her book. She called Reham the worst example of a woman, while she thought Jemima Goldsmith was the best. Reham Goldsmith and Jemima Goldsmith are both ex-wives of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Everyone makes mistakes. Imran Khan has made some mistakes. I made a lot of mistakes. But what about Reham Khan? Reham Khan is the worst example among women. Jemima Goldsmith is the best. ” Resham said.
Awards and Honors
- In 1997, Resham won the National Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film “Sangam”.
- In 1999, she won the Nigar Award for her role as Salma in the Urdu Pakistani film Jannat ki Talash.
- In 2021, she was awarded the Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
