Revealed, an all-new home remodeling series from HGTV, will bring a unique twist to all of the network’s current home renovation programming. It is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 10:00 PM ET. The new series will follow Veronica Valencia Hughes, a creative designer and mother of two children who will make every family’s dream come true with her amazing restoration talent.
Veronica will delve further into each client’s family history to understand their social and cultural influence, allowing her to create for the family. Viewers will be captivated not only by the magnificent home improvements, but also by the insight into each buyer and their family history. The unique series of renovations will involve the host learning about each family’s unique culture and history and incorporating multiple pieces of that into their design and renovation of different parts of the property. During the season, viewers can expect many dramatic and beautiful moments.

Revealed on HGTV features home renovations inspired by family history.
Veronica Valencia Hughes, host of the upcoming HGTV home restoration series, will draw design inspiration from her clients’ family history, including ancestral heirlooms, artifacts and many anecdotes from the past. Taking it all in, she will recreate it in the form of many designs in and around the home, giving her clients and customers an experience that will allow them to preserve their past. Revealed’s official synopsis is as follows:
“Veronica will dive deep to uncover each family’s unique history and imbue the spaces in their home with techniques, materials and heirlooms that reflect the family’s culture.” The end product will be magnificent, individualized and useful design with heart and purpose.”
However, the host will not travel alone. She will be assisted by her experienced design team, which includes Tommy Rouse, master builder David Bohler and creative artist Joshua Smith. Veronica and her team will connect with their buyers in each episode to gain more insight into what they need for a successful home remodel.
The Revealed host and her team will not only ask questions about the type of home restoration, but will also identify their client’s cultural identity, as well as their family’s social and cultural past. They will hire a genealogist to help them, who will provide them with information about the family’s historical heritage. According to HGTV, the team will “transform the home, creating beautiful and modern spaces that honor the family’s cultural heritage.”
Veronica and her team will also integrate treasured family possessions into artwork, artifacts and other home design elements. When asked about the creation of Revealed, the host informed the network:
“As a Mexican and Native American designer, culture and tradition have always been important to me.” In more than 500 home renovations, I have been motivated to convey the family narrative through design, and I think that discovering our origins can significantly impact every area of our lives.”
The network also offered viewers a sneak peek at what the first episode of the reality show will include. It will show Veronica meeting the Billups, who want a house that respects their heritage and origins. According to HGTV, the host explores the family’s West African origins and “pays tribute by creating a sculpture inspired by ancient Benin bronzes.”
In Season 1 of Revealed, the host and her amazing staff go above and beyond to deliver the best possible results for each of their customers. The program promises to expose viewers to other cultures and historical backgrounds, as well as stunning house restorations.
