RHOSLC's Mary Cosby Reveals How Life Has Been with Son Robert Jr. After Rehab: 'He Wanted to Change'

Mary Cosby offers an update about how her son goes after rehabilitation due to drug addiction.

“My mission is realized,” she said. “Robert and I gathered and I told him I would talk to him and I wanted to openly tell me what his struggle is, what’s going on because I [knew] He is absent. We did not plan to say what we would say, but we gathered and said, “If we can only help one person, then we will just tell our truth.” When the cameras climbed, he told me what he had done, and I immediately wanted to help him. ”

“The mission was to help someone,” she continued. “And I feel with the love I received, someone echoed, someone connected, someone understood me.”

Thinking back to that moment, Tear Mary said she never expected to hear her son say what he had done.

“I didn’t know that all this was doing it and the fact that I was not aware that he was scared because he lives in my house,” she said. “We’re so close and I was simply shocked.”

When hosting Andy Cohen, who also grew up with tearful eyes listening to Mary, asked how Robert Jr. She responded to rehab and cleaned, said she had taken care that the decision was his own because she knew that if “if she did not want to change, all that was not good.”

“He wanted to go,” she revealed. “And the way he spoke to me and opened up to me, it was a cry of help. That said: ‘Mom, help me. I drown myself and I don’t know if it’s a problem or addiction.” He was somehow at the intersection. He didn’t really know, but whatever it was, he wanted to change. ”

Ever since she returned home, Mary says Robert Jr. He was “good”, but the path to recovery is still challenging.

“I still worry because I feel like you go to rehab once, you have to change your friends,” she explained, saying she spent more time at home, and “mostly” is not friends with the people he once spent his time around. “He goes to those hours, AA hours, he does it often and has friends he met from there.”

Calling her “everything,” she continued to explain that, although she was heartfelt when she learned about the suicide ideas of Robert Jr, and the use of drugs, she was proud of him, which was open and honest with her.

“He’s worthy, you know. And I want him to believe that,” Mary shouted. “I feel like we are our worst critic, we are really difficult for ourselves. And I see it through him and that he is really hard for him, and I just don’t want him to be like that, and I wish I could change that.”

Thinking about her own childhood, Mary said she tried to give her son all she did not have all her life, even moved to New York for eight years so she could grow up in a “diverse” best education “atmosphere. At some point, she admitted that she felt his struggles guilty.

“I blame myself,” Mary said. “I feel like I missed a sign that I catch him, but I feel like everyone has their own journey, everyone has their testimony, everyone has their own story and I feel like it’s for him.”
