Are you ready for the new series of Richard Armitage? The hugely popular actor is back with the upcoming ITV thriller Red Eye, a six-part series set between flights from London to Beijing.
Starring Richard alongside Crazy Rich Asians stars Jing Lusi and Scott and Bailey actress Lesley Sharp, the series hits ITVX in 2024 and we can’t wait to see it.

So what is the show about? The official synopsis reads: “After attending a medical conference in Beijing and frighteningly close to death in a car accident, Dr. Matthew Nolan (played by Richard) about home and was quickly arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport.
“Exhausted and confused, Nolan was accused of murdering the woman in the car he crashed into. Despite his protests that he was driving alone, Nolan had to return to China to confront him. face charges.”

“DC Hana Li is a no-nonsense officer, living in London, tasked with escorting Nolan back to Beijing. Her anger at this assignment, and Nolan herself, is temporary. However, during flight, when the first death occurs, DC Li begins to suspect that further deaths confirm that Nolan is in danger, and after a call from MI5, Hana finds herself drawn into a conspiracy to escalate.
“Back in London, we follow Hana’s sister, Gen Z reporter Jess Li, who leads her own investigation into Nolan’s extradition and finds herself on the run from an unknown killer. .”
Richard, who is perhaps best known for his roles in Spooks, Obsession and Hannibal, said: “I am delighted to be on board the Red Eye with Jing Lusi. This action-packed spy thriller it’s one of the best scripts I’ve read in a long time. Nice to reunite with the brilliant Julie Gardner and the team at Bad Wolf and Sony… what a ride!”

Discussing what to expect, ITV Head of Drama Polly Hill said: “Red Eye is a wonderfully addictive thriller with an international plot that takes place on a red-eye flight from Heathrow to Beijing.
