Rick began performing on stage at the age of two, and at the age of four he made his television debut, playing the role of “Ricky Stevens” on the musical sitcom The Partridge Family (1970-1974).
He has appeared in many television series such as Rising Temperatures (1972), Little House on the Prairie (1974), Police Girl (1974), Blue Knight (1975), Fernwood Tonight (1975), How to Eat Like a Kid (1981) and I Love Liberty (1982). He made his screen debut as “Charlie Thompson” in The Last Married Couple in America (1980) and also appeared in the films Oh, My God! Volume 2 (1980) and The Laker Girls (1990).
He has also been a regular on The Tonight Show, The Merv Griffin Show, The Mike Douglas Show, The Carol Burnett Show, and two seasons on The Tim Conway Show.
At 12, he turned his attention to theatre, making his acting debut in Anthony Newley’s musical Chaplin.
He has acted in many plays such as Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues, Journey to Broadway, Blow Your Horn, I Am Not Rappaport, The Music Man, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof, Hamlet (which he also directed), and St. John in Exile (a one-man play). In 2004, he became the Dean of the School of Fine Arts at Harvest College and taught drama to children at the college. In 2018, Rick and Corbin Myers (actors) started a reactions YouTube channel, OUR STUPID REACTIONS. He also has another YouTube channel called Rick Segall where he posts videos about his travels, life, and shares acting tips.
