Ricky Martin Travels with Kids Matteo, Valentino, Lucia and Renn for Thanksgiving: ‘Daddy Duties’

Thanksgiving means travel day for Ricky Martin and his kids.

On Thursday, the “Livin’ la Vida Loca” superstar took to Instagram to share photos of herself and children Matteo, Valentino, Lucia and Renno traveling for Thanksgiving.

Martin, 51, posted a picture taken from behind of him holding hands with daughter Lucia, 4½, and son Renna, 4, as twin sons Matteo and Valentino, both 15, walk alongside them through the airport. “With my water, ‘to infinity and beyond,'” he wrote in the Instagram caption, including three hashtags: “#happyDayforPapi #ontheroadagain #thankful.”

The musician tagged the photo with the location in Las Vegas — seemingly showing they were traveling to the Nevada city, where he is scheduled to perform at the T-Mobile Arena on Friday on the final stop of his Trilogy Tour with Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull.

On his Instagram stories, Martin also shared a mid-flight selfie from an airplane seat, holding a princess doll and looking out the window. “#Daddyduties,” he wrote.

Martin became a single father to Matteo and Valentino, 15, born via surrogate in 2008. Martin married artist Jwan Yosef in 2017, and the couple welcomed their own children, daughter Lucia and son Renno, via surrogate just nine months apart the following year.

In July 2023, Martin and Yosef announced that they were divorcing after six years of marriage. In a statement, they said their children will be their main focus amid the split.

“Our greatest desire now is to continue to have a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on peace and friendship in order to continue raising our children together,” it reads in part.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Martin is seeking joint custody of Lucia and Renna.

In August 2023, Martin opened Telemundo Puerto Rico about the time that led to their decision to separate and how they will continue to co-parent Lucia and Renn.

“Jwan and I will always be a family. We have two children that we will raise together,” he told the newspaper.

“This didn’t just happen. We planned this situation for a long time – before the pandemic,” Martin said of his divorce from Yosef, 38, before describing the conversations that led to the split decision. “We’ve been through ups and downs. We’ve cried together and we’ve laughed together.”

“When the public found out, we had already gone through a solid grieving process,” added the performer of “Bailamosa”. “We knew this had to happen for our own sake and for the sake of our children. We’re better off than ever, and we’re single.”
