Former newscaster Riz Sunawan dies at 45
Former CNA and Berita Mediacorp Asri Riz Sunawan (Mohamad Asri Sunawan), also known as Riz Sunawan, has been suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) since 2018.
Riz is the famous name of Asri Sunawan in Singapore. He has worked as a radio host and announcer at Channel NewsAsia (CNA) and Berita Mediacorp for over 12 years.
After a 4+ year battle with the disease, Riz passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the age of 45 at his home.
The news of his death was communicated to his loved ones through Instagram. In the title of the post,
“Our dear friend, brother, son and #MNDWarrior, Mohammad Asri Sunawan aka Riz, has lost his battle against motor neurone disease, MND. He showed what it means to be strong in the face of adversity and inspired all of us to live life to the fullest. Al-Fateha dibaca buat Allahyarham Mohammad Asri Sunawan ???”

Riz’s other names were Mohamad Asri Sunawan and Asri Riz Sunawan. She was born in 1977 in Singapore. She was 45 years old when she died.
