RJ Malishka was born on Sunday, October 11, 1981 as “Malishka Mendonsa” (Age 38; same as 2019) was born in Mumbai. She grew up in Santacruz East, Mumbai. Her star sign is Libra. She did her Bachelor of Arts from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and after a year’s gap, she did her Masters in Political Science from the University of Mumbai. She then pursued a postgraduate degree in Mass Communication from Sophia College, Mumbai.

RJ Malishka started her career in the advertising industry. She interned under Indian ad film director Prahlad Kakkar but found the industry not so appealing. After that, she did Hindi dubbing for Discovery Channel. She started her career as a radio host at “Win 94.6 FM” and worked there for two years. Later, she joined Rediff Radio for seven months and then started working at Red FM.
She has hosted popular radio shows such as Morning No 1, Best Breakfast Programme and M Bole Toh. In 2013, she participated as a wild card contestant in the popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa but was eliminated in the 9th week.
In 2017, she turned actress with the Bollywood film Tumhari Sulu, starring Vidya Balan, in which she played a radio host.
She has also appeared several times on the reality show Bigg Boss. She has also dubbed for Hindi versions of Hollywood films; The Incredibles (2004) as “Mirage (Mona)” and Thor: Ragnarok (2017) as “Valkyrie / Scrapper 14”. In 2020, she participated in the reality TV show Khatron Ke Khiladi 10, which aired on Colors TV.

In 2017, she released a video in which she spoke about the potholes in Mumbai and criticised the Bombay Metropolitan Municipal Corporation (BMC). The video went viral but she also faced the wrath of Shiv Sena, the ruling party in the BMC. Subsequently, a Shiv Sena civic official released his video refuting Malishka’s song. In early 2019, the BMC invited Malishka to monitor their pre-monsoon works and gave a brief introduction about the working of the municipal body. However, this did not stop Malishka and she released another video criticising the BMC.

- As a child, Marishka was a confident girl who always wanted to be on stage. She often waited until Teachers’ Day or Children’s Day before she could go on stage.
- During her school days, she used to participate in various forms of activities, be it drama, Bharatanatyam dance training or singing.
- While in college, she was part of the public relations team and was a singer in the university band.
- Her show “Morning No 1 with Malishka” won the India’s Outstanding Broadcast Award for Best Breakfast Show/Program (Hindi) for four consecutive years from 2006 to 2010.
- RJ Malishka trained Vidya Balan for the film Lage Raho Munnabhai, in which Vidya plays the role of RJ. Talking about the film, she said:
I think it was Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s idea. You know, Raju Hirani (director Munnabhai) called me and said Chopra was a big fan of mine and wanted to create a character based on my personality in his next film. After that, Vidya would come to the studio to learn the tricks and mannerisms of playing RJ. I wouldn’t say she copied me because I say “gooooood” a lot in greetings, but she says “mooorning”!
