Robert De Niro Crashes NFL Tailgate Ahead of Eagles Game to Lobby for Kamala Harris: 'Eagles Tailgate Silver Lining'

Robert De Niro was spotted in an amazing place!

On Sunday, Nov. 3, the actor, 81, tailgated ahead of the Eagles-Jaguars game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to lobby for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

The NFL shared two photos of De Niro’s surprise appearance at the stadium on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Robert De Niro showed up at the @Eagles tailgate.”

In the footage, De Niro is seen standing among soccer fans dressed in green and black to show support for his team. Meanwhile, the actor wears a black coat over a gray shirt and holds a stack of white papers.

The photos were taken by sports fan Mark Kremer, who shared them with the caption: “Did Robert De Niro join your tailgate? No? That’s why tailgates hosted by @philatticus and @ianfromphilly are the best.”

The Eagles and Sunday Night Football on NBC also reposted images on X. The NFL team shared one of the two photos with the caption “Eagles tailgates remain elite,” while the sports program referenced De Niro’s Eagles-loving character in the 2012 romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook.

“Eagles Tailgate Silver Lining: Seeing Robert De Niro,” the NBC show joked in the headline of its post, which included a photo of De Niro at the tailgate along with a shot of the actor in Eagles gear in the film.

Another viewer shared a clip showing De Niro interacting with the crowd while Cascade’s “Everytime We Touch” plays in the background. The two-time Oscar winner can be seen nodding and having a lively conversation with a person standing behind a table of barbecued food.

According to The Hollywood ReporterDe Niro said he was “optimistic” that Harris and his opponent Tim Walz would win the election, but urged people not to be complacent.

“I’m very excited, but for me, it’s not over until it’s over. So we can’t think for a second that we’re ahead of this thing,” De Niro said.

We just have to be on it all the time until the very end because they will try everything when election day comes, he continued. “When are these things going to be final? What are they going to question? What are they going to play about? We know it’s coming, we see it coming. We have to be constantly vigilant and it’s not over until it’s over.”
