In September, the final song written and performed by late Bee Gees member Robin Gibb will be made available.
The last tune on a new album put together by the musician’s wife and son will be Sydney, which was produced by him before his passing in May 2012.
The title of the album will be 50 St Catherine’s Drive, after the Isle of Man birthplace of Gibb. His widow, Dwina, claimed that upon initially listening to his final work, it brought tears to her eyes. She continued, “He cried when he wrote it.” This song’s fragment is heartfelt, melancholy, lovely, and incomplete.
Mrs. Gibb claimed that her husband spent late nights in their bedroom using keyboards and some iPad software to write the tune. His brother Barry and he had planned to fully produce the song in the studio, but his poor health made this impossible.
When he closed his eyes, the three young brothers were back in Sydney, Australia, happily together, with their ambitions and plans for the future. He mourned his twin brother Maurice who had passed away, but he was there in spirit. Naturally, the globe was impacted by their later works, according to Mrs. Gibb.
The 17-track CD, which includes song-by-song annotations, was put together by her and is scheduled for publication on September 29.
The majority of the autobiographical songs were composed between 2006 and 2008 but were never released. Gibb suffered from a number of health issues before passing away at age 62.
After experiencing stomach issues in April 2011, he postponed a number of performances in Brazil. After having surgery on his bowel for an unrelated issue later that year, he was discovered to have colon cancer. He later received a liver cancer diagnosis, endured chemotherapy, and had surgery.
