Rod Stewart Is 'Unfortunately' Getting Rid of His Many Italian Sports Cars — and the Reason May Surprise You

Rod Stewart has decided to get rid of several of his most prized “works of art.”

On Wednesday, November 14, the British singer, 79, revealed in an Instagram post that he will be giving up his beloved collection of Italian sports cars because he feels the potholes in his neighborhood are too bad to keep driving around.

“I am extremely fortunate and eternally grateful to own these five beautiful hybrid sports cars, which in my opinion are true ‘works of art,'” Stewart captioned his Instagram post, which featured a photo of him posing in front of his cars brightly colored, lined up on a tree-lined street.

– Unfortunately, because of the potholes on our roads, I may have to find new owners for them – the singer continued. “I’ve been driving these iconic Italian cars since the seventies and absolutely love and adore them.”

Stewart captioned it, “This post is for my fans—thank you, because you’re the only reason I have them. 🤩 And to all the trolls… don’t bother; I never read comments.”

“Do you think I’m hot?” the musician has been open about his love for his sports cars, sharing social media posts and other updates about the vehicles — including Ferraris, Lamborghinis and more — over the past few years.

Stewart has also been candid about his frustrations with Britain’s potholed roads — so much so that he even took matters into his own hands in 2022 and filled a few potholes himself.

In one video, the “Maggie May” singer is seen shoveling as she says, “I’m fixing the street I live on, because nobody can do it.”

Stewart captioned the post: “Working for a living, filling holes is good for the soul! 🕳 😇.”

In another video, he demonstrated numerous potholes on the roads and explained in detail why he took matters into his own hands.

The other day, an ambulance came in with a flat tire, Stewart said in the video. “There’s no way my Ferrari can get through here, so me and the boys thought we’d come and do it ourselves.”

Rod Stewart opens up about the truth about his marriage to Penny Lancaster amid ‘Rift’ reports

Stewart made headlines in August when he and his wife, Penny Lancaster, responded to rumors of a rift in their marriage. At the time, he shared a statement shutting down “erroneous articles” that had been written about them.

“We wanted to make it right,” Stewart wrote on Instagram at the time.

“There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I and there is no disagreement about where we should live, quite the opposite in fact,” he continued, before addressing the specific claim that the long-term couple – who married in June 2007 – were fighting over whether he should move permanently from Los Angeles to the United Kingdom.

“We moved back permanently to our beloved Britain a year ago, but are happy to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit,” he wrote. “We originally thought it would make sense to sell our house in LA, but after spending a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my time in Vegas, we realized it made sense to keep our house there.”

“Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this…..there is no discord in our marriage,” he added before signing the statement as “Rod ‘ very lucky man Stewart.”
