Sir Rod Stewart’s sprawling Los Angeles home is up for sale — again!
The rock icon, 78, originally listed his 38,500-square-foot Beverly Hills estate for a cool $70 million in June. He told PEOPLE at the time that he wouldn’t “take a penny below what I asked for.”
Now he’s asking for a few pennies more. He relisted the property with Tomer Fridman of Compass with a $10 million price increase, for $80 million. He was previously listed with Michelle Oliver of Douglas Elliman.
“Basically, I don’t want to sell it, and the kids don’t want me to sell it either,” Stewart told PEOPLE in June. “There are too many good memories. I lived [in L.A.] since 1975 and I love the place.”

Designed for Stewart in the 1990s by celebrity-favorite architect Richard Landry (who also built Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s moated former LA home), the property has a host of luxury amenities, including a soccer field, motor court, and impressive pool.

Stewart revealed that the reason he wants to offload the property is that he plans to live in England as his more permanent base after his world tour and Las Vegas residency, which ended in November, are over.
“This home has such a rich family history,” Fridman of The Fridman Group International said in a statement to PEOPLE on Wednesday. “His family spent thirty years living there and he raised his children there. While they’ve made so many wonderful memories, it makes sense that he can’t wait to move on because in addition to his busy touring schedule, he spends most of his time in Palm Beach and Europe .”

Among the house’s lavish offerings is a picturesque fountain that welcomes visitors outside the columned facade. Inside the various living spaces – the great room, tea room and study on the first floor – offer ornate old-world design and several wood-burning fireplaces.

The home also has a private cinema room and payphone. Outdoor amenities include an inviting pool, spa-like Jacuzzi, built-in grill and fireplace.

Speaking to PEOPLE in June, Stewart clarified that he doesn’t think of LA as “toxic,” despite reports to the contrary.
“Let’s get one thing straight: [the press] he quoted me as saying that Los Angeles is toxic. It’s not toxic,” he says. “Maybe it is for other people, but I had the best fun and time in Los Angeles. But LA is not toxic. Sometimes the air is a little dirty, but I love LA”

The end of the tour marked a change in Stewart’s personal life as well as his career. He is not seen again on a major rock “n” roll tour in the future.
“This is going to be the last time, I think, that I do rock ‘n’ roll stuff because I want to move on to swing music and the Great American Song Book,” he said in June. “But I don’t take my songs to the graveyard and bury them. I might bring them out on the odd occasion, but basically I’d like to lay them to rest.”

Although Stewart says there are a lot of exciting changes on the horizon, at home with his wife, model Penny Lancaster, 52, and his children, nothing comes close.
“[I love] watching my kids grow up, and I have to be a different father to each of them because they’re all radically different ages,” he says. “I love what I do for a living, and I love my wife. I am truly blessed. That’s all I can say.”
