Rogue X-Men Cosplay Proves The Powerful Hero Shouldn’t Be Messed With

In a fantastic cosplay bringing the classic version of Rogue to life, the X-Men hero shows off her incredible powers as she holds a destroyed Sentinel while flexing her strength. In the ensemble by @Artyfakes, the longtime hero’s best costume and look comes to life in a cosplay that showcases why she’s become such a fan-favorite mutant over the years and why she’s still very much beloved by Marvel Comics readers today.

Rogue’s introduction in Avengers Annual #10 by Chris Claremont and Michael Golden added a new, complex character to the X-Men universe. The adopted daughter of Mystique and Destiny, the Southern-born mutant originally was a villain. Famously, she used her power absorption abilities to stole the powers of Ms. Marvel, creating a longtime rift between the two. Rogue would later join the X-Men, where she’s since played a key role on the team. Since joining, she’s been romantically linked to Gambit, the Cajun card-throwing mutant, as they’ve starred together in Mr. and Mrs. X from Marvel Comics. Currently, Rogue is a member of the current main X-Men team.

On her Twitter account, cosplayer and Twitch streamer @ArtyFakes shared her incredible Marvel Comics cosplay of Rogue, where she shows off the X-Men hero’s strength. She sports Rogue’s classic look in the ensemble, as the cosplay recreation features a yellow and green suit, a leather jacket, yellow gloves and boots, and her trademark white and brown hair. Adding a great touch to the cosplay is a giant piece of a mutant-hunting Sentinel’s face, which Rogue holds up proudly in the air. The Sentinel has clearly come on the wrong side of a fight with the X-Men, as it has Wolverine claw marks scattered throughout his broken face.

The costume is pulled right from the work of legendary artist Jim Lee, who was vital in popularizing Rogue alongside Chris Claremont during the pair’s iconic work run on the X-Men for Marvel Comics during the early 1990s. The hero’s comic book success led her to become a main member of the X-Men: Animated Series, where she was one of the featured mutants.

Honestly, every detail, from the costume to the hair, to the life-sized piece of the Sentinel, really helps bring Rogue to life in the stunning cosplay. @Artyfakes recreated a version of the Rogue that X-Men fans should adore just as much as they do in her Marvel Comics adventures.
