Ujjawala Tiwari was in a relationship with ND Tiwari since the late 1970s. Tiwari was married to Sushila Tiwari (who died in 1991), while Ujjwala was separated from Bipin Sharma. In the late 1970s, Ujjwala became pregnant with Tiwari’s child. This kid is Rohit Shekhar. However, Tiwari did not acknowledge Rohit as his son.

The mother and son made several attempts to contact Tiwari but were blocked. After several failed attempts to contact ND Tiwari, Rohit finally decided to file a paternity test case against ND Tiwari in 2007. He filed suit in 2008; claiming to be his biological son. After nearly six years of legal battle, the Delhi High Court declared Rohit to be Tiwari’s biological son based on DNA tests.

Rohit Shekhar passed away on April 16, 2019. He was murdered by his wife Apoorva Shukla, who strangled him to death.

- In 1995, he and his mother Ujjwala tried to reach Tiwari but were stopped at the gate by Tiwari security guards.
- Soon after filing a case against his father, Rohit suffered a “heart attack” and a “brain stroke” due to which he was paralyzed for a year.
- In 2010, Rohit’s legal father Bipin Sharma decided to hand over his DNA sample to the court, but Tiwari opposed it. However, Ujjwala was already separated from Bipin by the time Rohit was born. Finally, when the DNA results came out, it was proved that Bipin Sharma was not Rohit’s biological father.
- Ujjwala and Tiwari got married on May 15, 2014 in a ceremony in Lucknow.
