Roman Zaragoza’s career

Zaragoza grew up in New York and had a diverse upbringing. Who is the father of Roman Zaragoza, a frequent question? Gregory Zaragoza is a famous actor and Shirley is his mother. He identifies as mixed race, considering Akimel O’otham or Mexican ancestry on his father’s side and Japanese and Taiwanese ancestry on his mother’s side. Zaragoza’s interest in theater, film, and television was fostered from an early age by Shirley Zaragoza, a professor of administration at the university, and Gregory Zaragoza, an extraordinary actor.

His experience watching his father play in the 1999 Broadway production of “Annie Get Your Gun” opposite the famous Bernadette Peters is one of his earliest memories. Zaragoza’s family moved to Hell’s Kitchen when he was nine years old. He would go to school on the subway, going through all the famous Broadway shows, which would have a significant impact on his future career.

Zaragoza’s parents decided to move to Southern California on the West Coast when he was 11 so he could take acting, dance, singing, and improv classes. When Zaragoza was 15 years old, he began performing with Native Voices at Autry’s studio. At the time, Native Voices was the only professional Native American theater company.

When she was 18, she performed Frank Kaash Katasse’s “They Not Talk Back” on Native Songs at the Autry and La Jolla Playhouse. He played the extremely important role of Nick, a troubled teen Tlingit poet. His career path changed at this point. It was there that he met Randy Reinholz, a man who had a major influence on his life and helped Zaragoza get his Native Voices play, “Off the Rails,” selected for performance at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
