Rosemarie DeWitt Would 'Duck' from Angry Sex and The City Fans After Husband Ron Livingston's Infamous Role as Berger

Rosemarie DeWitt spoke out about the hostility her husband Ron Livingston faced after appearing in the Sex and the city.

In the latest season of the hit HBO comedy, Livingston played Jack Berger, a fellow author who infamously broke up with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) on a note.

Dewitt, who has been married to Livingston since 2009, joined Drew Barrymore on the Wednesday, Nov. 20, episode of her daytime chat show, The Drew Barrymore Show. Host, a Sex and the city superfan, said she just found out DeWitt and Livingston are married.

Barrymore went on to note that the Post-it is actually more than what many people get in the age of ghosting, breaking down the exact wording of Berger’s controversial note.

“Back in the day, when we first started dating, we’d be walking around the West Village and there would be those Sex and the city tour, and Ron would say, ‘Go left! Go left!’ “, she recalled. “And we’d have to take cover in Magnolia Bakery or something because the women would come up to him and scream at him. They’d say things like, ‘You broke up with her on a sticky note!’ You know what I mean? So he was really heated for a long time.”

Given Magnolia Bakery’s connection to the original series — the Manhattan bakery became something of a tourist destination after its West Village location was featured in a 2000 episode, and was almost certainly on those tours that DeWitt and Livingston were trying to avoid — perhaps she wasn’t the best a place to hide Sex and the city fans.
