Pearson, a star MMA fighter, first appeared on the reality TV show The Ultimate Fighter: United States vs. United Kingdom in 2009 when he won the match and finished first in lightweight. Ross won the Fight of the Night title against Dennis Siver on March 31, 2010, at UFC Fight Night: Florian vs. Gomi in Charlotte, USA. Then, in 2011, he had three matches, in which he won two and lost one to Edson Barboza.
Pearson was appointed Team UK coach for The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes in 2012. He won TKO in the third round. Pearson faced Melvin Guillard at UFC Bout Night 30 on October 26, 2013, and the fight ended inconclusive after Pearson was accidentally slashed in the forehead by an unauthorized knee.
