Griffin’s post continued, “When you were belittled, you still showed respect. When you were threatened, you led your team to victories. When you were knocked down, you continued to build your boys up and never wavered. God has your back.”

Wilson signed a five-year contract extension with Denver a few months after joining the team in 2022 and is expected to start next season, ESPN reported at the time. The Super Bowl quarterback’s contract includes a $37 million release clause if he doesn’t pass a physical through March 2024, leaving some to speculate that the Broncos’ personnel decision was driven by a desire to prevent Wilson from suffering an injury the rest of the regular season, according to ESPN.
