Ryan Minor dies after battle with cancer
Ryan Minor, a former Oklahoma dual-sport standout, has died at the age of 49 after a battle with colon cancer. “After a brave and difficult battle, I am saddened to say that Ryan lost his battle with cancer this afternoon,” his twin brother Damon said in a statement that aired on X. Before signing with the Oklahoma Sooners and being named to the third team baseball All-Americans, Minor was a standout student at Hammon High School.
Minor played basketball and baseball for the Sooners. His inclusion on the College World Series All-Tournament Team was recognized and he helped lead Oklahoma baseball to the 1994 national championship.
