S Yashasri is an Indian cricketer who plays for Hyderabad in domestic cricket. In 2023, she was signed by the UP Warriorz team to participate in the inaugural Women’s Super League.

Soppadhandi Venugopal Yashasri was born on Thursday, September 4, 2003 in Hyderabad (age 19; as of 2022). Her zodiac sign is Virgo. She completed her education from India Das International School, Hyderabad. She played different sports including cocoa, swimming and basketball before choosing cricket as her sport. She became interested in cricket when she saw her friend Pooja Vanka batting in an inter-school match. She discovered her bowling skills in 2016 when she was invited by her school cricket team to bowl for the team which was short of players because she was too tall. Growing up, she would watch players’ cricket skills on television. Later, she started training at Bhawan Cricket Academy and Iqbal Cricket Academy in Hyderabad. She said in an interview that when she started playing cricket, many people told her parents that there was no future for girls playing cricket, but her parents never stopped supporting her. According to her, she was not interested in studying and went to school just for exams.

She was named in the national U19 squad for the 2022/23 India Women’s Under-19 tour of South Africa, in which she took 4 wickets in two T20 matches. Initially, she was not selected in India’s squad for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Before the game, Mumbai’s Hurley Gala suffered a cut on her right thumb that required stitches, after which Yashasri joined the team as a substitute; she played only one game in the tournament. India defeated England by seven runs in the final to become the inaugural champions of the tournament.

In 2023, she was selected by UP Warriorz in the Women’s Super League auction for Rs. 1000000. In an interview, she discussed her choice, saying:

I watched the auction for a while and then went to work out. I didn’t expect to be selected, so I wasn’t nervous about the auction. But when I got the news, I felt great. I couldn’t express my feelings in front of everyone because I was in the gym, but I felt good inside. “
