On September 30, 2022, Sagar Pandey fell unconscious while exercising in the gym and was rushed to Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackerey Trauma Care Municipal Hospital by a fitness trainer. According to hospital doctors, Sagar Pandey suffered a heart attack while exercising and by the time he reached the hospital, he was dead. Talking about the incident, Sagar’s friend said,
Sagar was working in the gym when he suddenly fainted. He was immediately admitted to Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackerey Trauma Care Municipal Hospital in Jogeshwari East, Mumbai. That’s where he was pronounced dead. I was shocked. He is in very good health. He was too young to die. He must be around 45 to 50 years old. “

- Sagar Pandey said in an interview in 2021 that he went through a financial crisis after the government imposed a lockdown during the second wave of COVID-19 in India in 2020 because no one in the film industry hired him. Speaking about his financial crisis, Sagar said,
It was a really bad time for me. Due to the coronavirus lockdown of 2020, no one was willing to give me a job and I had to go through a money crunch. I make most of my money from gigs and stage shows, and due to the COVID lockdown, I’m not making much money. However, things are much better now as now I am getting offers from Bollywood and Bhojpuri film industry again. “
