Sagar Rana, also known as Sagar Dhankad, is an Indian junior national wrestling champion. On May 4, 2021, the 22-year-old wrestler was murdered by a group of people.

Sagar Rana was born on Sunday, November 23, 1997 in the Jhajjar district of Haryana, India (age 22 at the time of death). His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. He received his primary education from a local government school in Jhajar. Sagar entered Delhi University for higher education. He has loved wrestling since he was a child and started professional wrestling at the age of 6.

Sagar Rana started practicing wrestling at the age of 6. He competed in wrestling at the state level while in school. Later, he learned Perwani wrestling at the Akhada Chattrasal Stadium in Delhi. According to his parents, Sagar was inspired by Sushil Kumar to pursue wrestling as his career. He always dreamed of representing India in international tournaments.

On May 4, 2021, Sagar Rana was murdered outside the Chhatrasal Stadium parking lot in New Delhi. India’s two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar was also implicated in the Sagar Rana murder case. Sushil Kumar has been on the run since his alleged involvement in the Sagar Rana murder case. Subsequently, the Delhi Police issued a surveillance warrant against Sushil Kumar and his associate Ajay Kumar. The Delhi Police also announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Sushil Kumar and a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Ajay Kumar.
