In the months since Samantha Harris revealed that her breast cancer had returned 10 years after the initial diagnosis of 2014, she faced another ride on an emotional Rollercoaster, with whom she was all too familiar with.
Although Harris “feels great these days … I consider myself without cancer,” she had a “failure” after the reconstructive operation she had in November, a few months after the initial surgery to remove the tumor.
Harris explains that after a 10 -day rest in bed, Markan surgeon got up to take a walk.
“For most people, this would mean just going down the block to the end of your street and come back,” she says. “I went for two days in a row [about] An hour of walking, thinking I am walking at a pair of pace – but for me it is still an incredibly fast pace. ”

After two days of movement, the first Dance with the stars The host noticed that a place to recover is “red” and “inflamed”.
“I was immediately so worried that I basically canceled all the goodness of the surgery and the first 10 days of recovery, and now I was afraid that I had perhaps either infection or that my implant was rejected,” she continues. “I wasn’t sure what was going on. But despite the obstacle, after returning to bed for a while, Harris managed to return to the “regular six -week recovery schedule”, which allowed her to join her family on a celebratory trip to Mexico.

“One thing I learned from my initial diagnosis was only that my experiences and time were more and more important than anything now in the whole world,” she says. “Whether it’s time with friends, grabbing a girl for a trip or a girl’s night, a night with my husband, stealing on his way to him or be able to have these family vacations so we can create those memories because it will last more than any estate.”

While continuing on its recovery journey, he says: “The goal is now to ensure that my body is not hosting any circulating tumor cells that would decide to settle on the host organ.”
Harris days now consist of recording her podcast, Your healthiest healthy (which is the extension of her 2018 book), planning to lead more healthy healthy withdrawal, teaching live weekly sweat, stretching and soothing teaching and continuing her own physical therapy, which she calls “Booby PT” to “keep the implant cavity so that she does not strengthen and lead to something called in accordance with the national team.”
As for her family as a new chapter of their lives, she says her husband Michael Hess and two daughters Josselyn, 17, and Hillary, 14, “return to work as usual”
“You want to go back to normal or what’s new normal,” she says. “And so if this could be a stain on our daughter’s memory radar, it would make me very happy.”
