Samantha Harris Reveals Second Breast Cancer Diagnosis: 'I Will Fight On'

Samantha Harris has revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time.

On August 14, the former Dancing with the stars the fellow housewife — who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 — posted a video on Instagram sharing a health update with her followers.

“I have some health news to share that I never thought I’d share again in my life, but I have breast cancer again,” the 50-year-old said. “And I feel so fortunate to have been able to guide, support and lead so many of you at the Your Most Healthy Healthy community, and I’m going to keep going, and I’m going to keep fighting and I’m going to be fine.”

“I am so thankful for my family and my close friends, and as I lean on them, I am also reaching out to lean on you during this time, and I will continue to share more as my treatment plan unravels,” she continued. – See you soon.

In the comments section, Harris received numerous messages of support as she began her cancer journey. Tom Bergeron, a fellow former DWTS host, wrote: “Sending hugs.”

“Sending you so much love.❤️ 🙏” Melissa Peterman commented while Eva LaRue added, “ooh nooooo my heart hurts! I am so sorry my dear friend, I am sending you and your family so much love and every possible prayer for healing. 🙏💗”

In March 2023, Harris spoke with PEOPLE about being diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer ten years ago.

The Your healthiest healthy the author underwent a double mastectomy — where doctors discovered the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes — and later had breast reconstruction.

Since then, Harris has dedicated her platform to encouraging women to take responsibility for their own well-being.

“We have to make sure we’re putting effort into preventative care for ourselves so we can have that longevity,” she explained. “I can help people realize that we can take even better control of our well-being in small, manageable steps that aren’t too big.”
