Sana Talikoti is the daughter of Indian counterfeiter Abdul Karim Telgi, who was convicted in the 2003 stamp paper scam. She claimed in an interview that the show was based on a book that was factually incorrect and violated her family’s rights to privacy, dignity and self-respect; however, the production company later argued that information about the family and the scam had already entered the public domain , so the right to privacy no longer applies. On the other hand, a Mumbai court dismissed Sana’s plea to stop the distribution of the web series in the same year.
