Sandeep Nangal, who ruled Kabaddi for nearly a decade, was assassinated on the spot between 6:15 and 6:30 pm on March 14, 2022. Sandeep was in India organizing a kabaddi competition and attending a wedding in Punjab. In Nivin Mallian, Jalandhar, a gang of gangsters fired 20 rounds at kabaddi player Sandeep Nangar, killing him on the spot. According to reports, unidentified assassins shot Sandeep as he fled the field, killing him on the spot and leaving a young man injured, but he is currently safe. In a widely circulated video of the incident, the attacker can be seen standing in the woods shooting at someone. At least seven or eight gunshots were fired near the open field where the game was being held. The game was interrupted midway when the attacker opened fire. The defendant then fled the scene.
