Sangeetha Sajith started her career as a singer with the Tamil song “MTV Parthuputta” from the film “Naalaiya Theerpu” (1992). She has performed more than 200 songs as a singer.
She rose to fame with the Tamil song “Thaneerai Kadhalikum” from the film “Mr.” “Romeo” (1996) was composed by the famous Indian musician AR Rahman. She contributed songs such as “Ambili Poovattam” in “Ennu Swantham Janakikutty” (1998), “Aalare Govinda” in “Kakkakuyil” (2001), “Odathandil Thalam Kottum” and “Dhum” in “Pazhassi Raja” (2009) Dubbing. Sangeetha passed away on May 22, 2022, at the age of 46. She was undergoing treatment for a kidney-related condition for some time. She breathed her last at her sister’s home in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Her last rites were performed at the Saanthi Kavadamn Public Crematorium in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Senior Indian singer KS Chithra and other South Indian celebrities expressed grief over Sangeetha’s death. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also expressed his condolences. Indian song composer Jakes Bejoy shared his grief on Facebook. He uploaded a picture of Sangeetha and captioned it:
You are always so sweet and warm. I was honored to collaborate with you on the song “Thalam Poyi”.
