Spiritual Journey
In the early 1990s, he moved from the Sikh Gurdwara in Jhagraon, Punjab to the Sikh Gurdwara in Singla village, Karnal, and started working as a Sikh Gurdwara operator there.

His ashram is located in Singla village near Nisan in Karnal district. His followers used to call him Sant Baba Ram Singh or “Singada Wale”. His followers mainly came from Punjab and Haryana and he was associated with the Nanaksar sect.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, he shot himself near the Singh Border in Delhi. He was deeply hurt by the plight of farmers protesting against the Farm Bills, 2020. He left behind a suicide note handwritten in Gurumukhi which read:
I witnessed the plight of farmers fighting for their rights on the streets. I was sad to see that the government was not giving them justice. This is a crime. Oppression is a crime and suffering is also a crime. No one is doing anything for oppression and farmers’ rights. Many even expressed their protest by returning their rewards. This servant set himself on fire to protest against government oppression [and] Good for farmers. [The act] It is a voice against oppression and a voice to protect the interests of farmers. “

Soon after he shot himself, he was rushed to a hospital near Panipat in Haryana. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted,
My condolences and respect go out to them in this hour of grief. Many farmers have sacrificed their lives. The brutality of the Modi government has crossed all boundaries. Give up your stubbornness and withdraw the anti-farm laws immediately.”
