Santosh Jadhav is an Indian sharpshooter and criminal from Pune. He is associated with Arun Gawli gang. In June 2022, he was suspected of being one of the eight sharpshooters involved in the murder of Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala.

Santosh Jadhav was born in 1999 (23 years old; as of 2022) in Pokhari village, Panataluka, Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra. His father died when he was 13 years old. After his father’s death, Jadhav’s family moved to Manchal in Ambegaon taluka in Pune district of Maharashtra. According to his mother, Santosh was very enthusiastic as a child, but after his father’s death, he came under the bad influence of his friends. Despite many efforts, Santosh’s mother could not turn him into a good person.

Santosh Jadhav has around four criminal cases registered against him at the Manchal police station. In 2019, Jadhav was accused of rape. In August 2021, the Manchal police station registered a case against Santosh for his involvement in the murder of Ranya Ali Omkar Bankhile. Since then, he has been absconding and was detained by the police. Apart from this, Manchal police also registered a case of extortion and theft against him. Jadhav fled Manchal and moved to Rajasthan after his name emerged in the Omkar Banhille murder case. In 2021, he was hiding in Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. After he was suspected of being the murderer of Musewala, he briefly moved to Pune before eventually fleeing to Nepal.
Involved in Sidhu Moosewala murder case
On May 29, 2022, Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead at around 5:30 pm in Jawahark village in Punjab’s Mansa district. According to reports, a total of 40 bullets were fired at him, seven of which hit him directly. He had 19 wounds on his body and died within 15 minutes of being shot. He was apparently traveling in his Thar Jeep when he was chased by a Bolero and Corolla before he was shot dead. Hours after his murder, Indian gangsters Goldy Brar, Lawrence Bishnoi and Sachin Bishnoi admitted responsibility for his murder through Facebook posts from their respective accounts. As the investigation into Musewala’s murder intensifies, the Pune police, who had earlier arrested Sourav Mahakar, the sharpshooter in the case, suspect Santosh Jadhav’s involvement in Musewala’s murder. Pune Police Commissioner Abhinav Deshmukh said in an interview with the media,
Pune police on Monday spoke to Mansa police, who believe Jadhav is likely to be one of the gunmen involved in Musewala’s murder. The case is being investigated by the Punjab Police and we will provide any assistance required. “
He further said that Jadhav had been working for the Bishnoi gang and members of the gang were accused along with him of another crime in Gangapur, Rajasthan. Soon after, Jadhav’s name emerged in the case and the Punjab Police issued a lookout notice against him and released his photo. According to some sources, Jadhav has fled to Nepal. During police interrogation, sharpshooter Sourav Mahakal revealed that Jadhav was in Pune just three days before the Punjab police released his photo.

- In an interview in 2022, Santosh’s mother revealed that she last saw her son a year and a half ago. She further said that if her son was guilty, he should be handed over to the police. At the end of the conversation, she said she would not support her son’s criminal activities.
- In another conversation, Santosh’s mother said that no one becomes a criminal for no reason and that he will choose the world of crime only when something unfair happens to him.
- In 2022, Santosh Jadhav’s name was also involved in the Salman Khan threat letter case. However, the Mumbai police later clarified that Jadhav was not directly related to the case. A Mumbai police officer said in an interview with the media,
Bishnoi gang member Mahakal and gunman Santosh Jadhav have nothing to do with the Salman Khan threat letter case. They are not suspects in this case. “
