Saquon Barkley's 2 Kids: All About Jada and Saquon Jr.

Meet Saquon Barkley’s little fans.

The longtime running back for the New York Giants, who recently signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, is the father of two children with girlfriend Anna Congdon.

Barkley and Congdon — who met at Penn State University and have been dating since 2017 — welcomed their first child, daughter Jada, in April 2018. They welcomed their second child, son Saquon Jr., in September 2022.

Shortly after Jada’s birth, Barkley said that “honored and blessed“to have a daughter and enter fatherhood.”[Always] I have to try to set a standard for her because her image of a man will be lost to me,” he added.

Barkley left Penn State early after being drafted into the NFL by the Giants on April 26, 2018, becoming the second overall pick that year. Despite dropping out of school, the athlete graduated in May 2022, partly with his children in mind.

“I also thought it would be good to get a degree to set an example for my siblings and my family,” he explained. “I want my kids to set goals and whatever they want to achieve, they can do it if they set their mind to it. I’d love for them to say one day, ‘I want to achieve it and actually see it happen and enjoy it.'”

As Barkley’s little ones grow, they can be seen cheering on their dad from the sidelines during games. They even appeared on the field in December 2024 during one of the NFL’s Mic’d Up segments.

Barkley and Congdon welcomed their first child, daughter Jada, on April 24, 2018. She was born just two days before the running back was drafted into the NFL by the Giants.

The new mom shared the exciting news on her Instagram on the day her little one was born. “When two became three…” she captioned the post alongside a photo of Congdon and Barkley with baby Jada swaddled.

Since then, Congdon hasn’t shied away from sharing glimpses of Jada on her Instagram. She celebrated her first Mother’s Day a month after the birth of her baby girl and wrote a sweet tribute in the caption.

“Motherhood is a million little moments that God weaves together with grace, redemption, laughter, tears and most of all love. Thank you my sweet girl for making me a mom and Happy Mother’s Day to my fellow moms!” – wrote Congdon on Instagram with a photo of her snuggled up with Jada.

Six months after her birth, Jada appeared on the field at one of her father’s Giants games. Congdon carried her in a papooz as the family of three posed for photos at the stadium. A month later, the proud mom posted an adorable picture of Jade wearing her dad’s Giants jersey.

Barkley, who is often asked about fatherhood during interviews and press conferences, is undoubtedly a proud dad and takes his parenting duties seriously. The soccer star even has his baby on his mind every time he steps out onto the pitch.

“Obviously I’m doing it for myself because I love the game, I love competing and I want to become one of the best [in NFL history]but I go out there and sacrifice my body every day for my daughter,” Barkley told NJ Advance Media in June 2019.

Barkley, who wore Jada’s name and birthday on his Nike boots, also told the outlet that “it’s not just football” where his goals are fueled by his daughter. “Every business decision I make, every investment, every marketing deal, everything has to come with the mindset of putting my daughter first.”

“She’s my world. I’m going to give her the world,” Barkley continued. “I will make sure that she never has any worries in her life, but I will also show her that you have to work hard for everything in life. I want to be the best role model and father I can be in her life.”

In February 2024, Jada joined her parents at the NFL Honors tournament in Las Vegas during Super Bowl weekend. Saquon and Congdon posed adorably with their daughter on the red carpet before the prestigious ceremony began.

Barkley and Congdon welcomed their second child, son Saquon Jr., in September 2022. They call him “SJ” for short.

“Beautiful baby,” Barkley said of his son after his birth. “He lit up a room. An amazing smile. Jada is an amazing big sister. Anna, obviously, an amazing mom. We have a beautiful little family.”

Compared to Jada, Congdon doesn’t post many pictures of SJ on her Instagram page. However, she did share a rare family photo ahead of the NFL Honors in February 2024.

While just Jada walked the red carpet with her mom and dad at the event, SJ posed with the family for a pre-event photo. “A family thing,” Congdon described the carousel of images.

Also during Super Bowl weekend, Barkley spoke with Overtime about “the most surprising part about fatherhood” — to which he admitted, “I fall into a stereotype.”

The professional athlete explained the tough love he teaches his son, especially compared to his daughter. He said if Jada falls, he showed him petting her — but if SJ falls, “I’m watching [at him] like, ‘Get up’.”

“I have to get better in that area,” Barkley admitted. “I have to be loving and strict and let them do it themselves for both of us.” He said he was “surprised” he fell into it, given the way his parents were, especially as he believed he would “never be like that”.
