Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. this year they deviated from the traditional Thanksgiving and instead celebrated Thanksgiving in Australia with their children.
In a series of family photos on Instagram documenting the family vacation, Gellar, 47, captioned the photos: “Thanksgiving looks a little different this year. One thing doesn’t change though, I’m still extremely grateful. Also, since I’m actually in the future…. Black Friday sales are 🔥 🔥.”
In addition to a collection of shots of the Australian beach, Gellar shared the one in which she is hugging and smiling with Prinze (48), while the other shows the actress with her son, 11-year-old Rocky.

In January, Gellar revealed that Prinze Jr. camera shy and convincing him to take family photos is not the easiest task.
During the family’s tropical vacation in 2024, Gellar shared photos of herself posing with the actor on a grassy lawn in front of the ocean, with palm trees and a beautiful sunset in the background, while admitting that “it’s not easy getting @realfreddieprinze to take pictures.”
The couple, who are also parents to 15-year-old daughter Charlotte, married in 2002 after meeting on the set of the 1997 horror classic. I know what you did last summer.
The two recently hit the red carpet for the premiere of Prinze Jr.’s latest movie. Girl in the pool. She also joined her husband on the set of his I know what you did last summer reboot, raising hopes from fans that she might join the project as well.

Gellar previously shared that one of the secrets to their long-lasting marriage is being mindful and present during their time together.
“Take 10 minutes — put the phone down. Have a cup of coffee together. Walk the dog at the end of the night. Read a story with your kids,” she told PEOPLE in 2020.
“Take advantage of the time you have. We’re all pulled in so many directions, so be present, whichever you focus on,” she added.
