Sarah Paulson gets candid about her life situation with girlfriend Holland Taylor.
During an appearance on the May 13 episode SmartLess podcast hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett American Horror Story The 49-year-old star revealed that he is still not living with his girlfriend of almost ten years
“Yes, we don’t live together. That’s the secret of it all,” says Paulson about his longtime romance. “We spend a lot of time together, but we don’t live in the same house.”
He explains that they are i Two and a half Men The alum, who first met in 2005 and went public with their relationship in 2015, “have been together for a long time. And part of that has to do with being together when we want to be and not when we don’t.”

After the hosts suggested that Paulson and Taylor, 81, might try living in the same house but having separate bedrooms, Ratched the alum still stands his ground.
“No, because my favorite thing is to fall asleep holding hands. I like sleeping near her,” he says, before joking, “I don’t want to be around her the rest of the time. I’m just kidding.”
Paulson explains that her partner’s love history may be one of the reasons their arrangement works best for them.
“Holland, before me, was not in a ton of long relationships, while Holland is my third. I do it and I have more experience in it, Holland doesn’t. So, to get to her age and in some way not coexist with someone for a long time — I think it was a lot to have me and all my self in my space.”

The couple first met at a dinner nearly twenty years ago while Paulson was dating actress Cherry Jones. Taylor was also in a relationship at the time.
Nearly ten years later, they reconnected in 2015 after Taylor DMed Paulson on Twitter. Paulson explained the scene during a January 2019 appearance with Billy Eichner Watch what happens live with Andy Cohen.
“It’s a long story. We met a long, long time ago. I was with someone else; she was too,” she recalled. “We kind of fell in love, and then we started following each other on Twitter, and then…”
Eichner then asked, “Holland Taylor got into your DMs?” and Paulson replied, “Actually it is. Yeah, it’s pretty great.”

Paulson added, “She just makes me feel seen, which I think is the most important gift you can give any person.”
